Sacramento County issued the following announcement on Nov. 18
Announcement by Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Chairman Phil Serna regarding CEO Nav Gill:
As Chairman my one and only obligation this afternoon is to report out the results of yesterday’s closed session during which the board considered the performance of Sacramento County CEO Nav Gill.
First, the board voted by a simple majority 3-2 margin to publicly express “no confidence” in Mr. Gill’s abilities as County CEO.
Secondly, the board voted unanimously to place Mr. Gill on paid administrative leave beginning immediately and running concurrent with the duration of an active personnel investigation involving Mr. Gill.
The board also voted to designate me as board chair to explain these closed session vote results to Mr. Gill in person, which I have done.
