The MIXED Institute of Cosmetology & Barber reported a 9.1% reduction in tuition fees for the 2022-23 school year, based on the most recent disclosure, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students enrolled at the private for-profit institution paid $14,810 this year, which is $1,480 less than the $16,290 tuition charged during the 2021-22 academic year.

All undergraduate students at the school are residents of California.

Data indicates that every full-time undergraduate who began studies at the MIXED Institute of Cosmetology & Barber in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. Specifically, seven students were awarded grants or scholarships totaling $48,265, while eight students obtained student loans exceeding $56,326.

Across the entire undergraduate body, 104 students benefited from grants or scholarships amounting to $513,493. Additionally, 99 students secured federal student loans totaling $565,787.

Undergraduate education costs have seen a significant increase over the past few decades. Data shows a 169% rise in the average total cost, including tuition, fees, room, and board, between 1980 and 2020.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
